Job Description

Job Purpose:- As a Barista at Hugo's Family Marketplace (& Caribou), you will be the face of our coffee service, providing exceptional customer experiences while preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items. Your role is pivotal in ensuring customer satisfaction through efficient service, product knowledge, and adherence to health and safety standards.Key Responsibilities:- Greet customers warmly and assist them in a friendly and efficient manner.- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring a positive interaction.- Prepare and serve beverages according to Caribou standards, ensuring consistency and quality.- Prepare food items, including pastries and sandwiches, adhering to company recipes and presentation standards.- Operate the point-of-sale system/register with accuracy, handling cash and card transactions securely.- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station and seating area, ensuring a welcoming environment.- Conduct inventory checks and assist in stock management to ensure smooth operations.- Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and health regulations to ensure a safe environment for customers and staff.- Demonstrate product knowledge and make recommendations to enhance the customer experience.- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and a cohesive work environment.Benefits:Full Time - Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance, 401k, Paid Time Off, and Holiday Pay.Full Time and Part Time - Employee Discount and Time & Half Holiday Pay.Required Education:- High school diploma or GED- Caribou provides on-the-job trainingPreferred Education:- Some post-secondary coursework in hospitality, food service, or customer service (optional)Required Experience:- No prior experience requiredPreferred Experience:- 1+ year of experience in food service, café, or customer-facing retail- Experience with POS systems or cash handling- Familiarity with coffee preparation and espresso machinesRequired Skills and Abilities:- Customer service and communication- Ability to follow recipes and beverage preparation guidelines- Attention to detail and accuracy in order taking and preparation- Teamwork and reliability in a fast-paced environment- Multitasking and time management skills- Basic math and cash handling proficiency- Physical stamina for standing, lifting, and performing repetitive tasks- Commitment to cleanliness and adherence to food safety standards #J-18808-Ljbffr
